If you are a musically inclined and love the Lord, we DEFINITELY have a place for you! Throughout the year, we have special music using all kinds of people with unique talent on musical instruments. If you are proficient on an instrument and want to play for worship, we’ll find a date and make that happen. Also, whether vocally or instrumentally talented we have two groups that rehearse in the middle of the week that can also use your talents.

12:30 pm – Happy Timers Choir

5:30 pm – Carillon Handbell Choir
6:30 pm – Sanctuary Choir

Did you know that the art of handbell music is one of the only types of music soley born out of the church? Our handbell choir is open to anyone who can count to 4 and tell their left from their right hands.  Reading music is not necessary.  We strive to play at least once a month in worship and at the end of the season we go to an assisted living facility and give a mini concert.
Our sanctuary choir is open to all members.  There is no audition-we welcome all.  We strive to present meaningful and purposeful anthems to utilize in worship.  Every Wednesday at 6:30 the choir rehearses.  Rehearsals are a mix of work, fun and worship.  After joining this group you will quickly find yourself in a special kind of life group surrounded in Christian fellowship.  The sanctuary choir sings in worship every Sunday and presents special programs throughout the year.
Every Monday during the year the “Happy Timers” rehearse at 12:30 and then venture to one of four retirement homes to sing for their guests.  Their program consists of familiar hymns, popular songs and an occasional patriotic song.  The variety of music is enjoyable for the singers as well as the retirement home guests.  Many of the people in the retirement homes like to remember the words to their favorite hymns and old popular songs so a good time is had by all.

Now that the “Happy Timers” have become ecumenical, singers from other congregations who would like to participate in this fellowship group are welcomed.  If they like to sing, like being with friendly people, like making others happy while representing their Lord, they are welcomed to join us.

Rehearsal-12:30 each Monday in the Friendship Classroom of First Christian Church from September through May.

Leave the Church at 1:00 pm and sing for retirement home at 1:30 pm
